Last Year's Eventing

This is my horse and I warming up and getting ready for our dressage test coming up.

Honey was very alert and looking for something to freak out about.

Oh were just chilling out over yonder.

What a good little stretch! :) My pony is so calm and I was so freaked out!

Were in the dressage ring, doing our stretches. :)

I was so up tight that day, but my pony was so fabulous!

This is Honey and me in the box waiting for our time to start so we can bolt of and go jump!

Waiting so excitedly for the guy to say "GO! and good luck!!"

Honey and I walking through the corn. What a good girl.... she didn't even spook once! :D

Galloping up going for our first jump!

Clear jump, Thankfully!

I feel so weird like the people watching me are just waiting for my horse to refuse a jump.

we had a little spookiness over the milk truck but we passed the test!!

cautiously approaching our next jump.....

We cleared it fine!

And galloping back down to shorten our time.

<3 I love my pony!

This is our stadium jumping, so fun! but freaky

I was hoping so bad that I didn't mess up and get disqualified .

But we had a successful day coming out with a second place ribbon! Big pats for my pony who has brought me so far, and has taught me so much in the past three years! Even though she is going to be turning 20 soon, we have come a long way and we are still progressing every day! As one of Honey's old trainer and rider said " I love my fruit loop!"

Zip

This is Zip, a Quarter Horse gelding. My brother owns him and rides him, but I ride him from time to time. I love him like he is my own, and spoil him with treats! :) He is a western horse that does team penning, ranch sorting, and barrel racing. I ride him western pleasure every once in a while, but mostly ride him english. I found out this summer that he hates to jump, but is amazing at dressage as long as you don't push him.

Honey

This is Honey, a Bashkir Curly mare, she is 19 and sometimes acts like she is 5, and the only time she acts like her real age is when I want to ride her.  :)  She can be a handful at times, but I love her to death! After one year of riding we decided to get a horse. When my instructor showed me this mare I  had so many memories of her bucking people off that I had set my mind to "I would never own this crazy mare!" So after my mother fell in love with her ,and Honey, always giving her those adorable puppy eyes, we finally decided to take her. And to this day I still don't know why I said yes! But I'm glad I did. :)
